About Me


I am currently a special education instructional facilitator at Clark High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Previously, I taught US Government, US History, and AP US History for 11 years, served as a technology learning strategist, and served as a dean of students prior to deciding to return to the classroom from administration.  I served one year as an alternative school physical education teacher before moving from Las Vegas to Reno, NV, and taught special education in Carson City for two years before returning to Las Vegas, teaching special education for two years prior to my current role. I am a Google Certified Educator, Level 1 & 2, a Google Certified Trainer, a Pear Deck Certified Coach, Apple Teacher (Mac & iPad), Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator, a Flipgrid Certified Educator, and have presented at numerous educational technology conferences, including EdTech Team Google for Education Summits, various CUE, Inc. affiliate events, and several school district workshops and conferences.  I am the co-host of two education podcasts, The BeerEDU Podcast and The Podcast by Sons of Technology; both shows can be found on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, PocketCasts, Anchor, Stitcher, or wherever you listen to podcasts! I am married to another educator, Mary, a speech-language pathologist.  Together, we have a daughter, Elsa (11), and a son, Reed (7).  And I am the author of To The Edge: Successes & Failures Through Risk-Taking, a book that inspires readers to take more risks in their lives and careers, available on AmazonBarnes & Noble, and through my publisher, Edumatch Publishing!
